MR FISH AND THE GARRISON HALL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —lam quite sure you would not willingly misrepresent me, yet in your leiderette of to-day referring to the letting of the Garrison Hall by Mr Taylor (whose action, by the way, I regret to observe yoa do not disapprove) you do £0. You say "Mr Fish would glsdiy have taken the hall, and had he been successful in hi 3 application the public would have heard nothing of party bias or of the highly reprehensible action of the returning officer." This is exactly where you are wrong. / made no application for the hall to Mr Taylor—for one reason because I did not know he had it to let, and secondly, had I known he had taken it for two days I should never have dreamed of applying to him for it. But you cannot have read my correspondence on the subject in the columns of yoar evening contemporary or you would not, I srn persuaded, have written as you have. As to Sir P. A. Buckley's telegram, I leave the public to judge where the insolence comes in; and with regard to this telegram I am eomewhafc curious to learn how the same came into your hands.
