THE MAYORAL ELECTION.

TO TUB EDITOB. • Sir,—The crafty system of sneaking around getting promises for the coming election of mayor does not commend itself to my mind at all, and unless Messrs Haynes and Chapman come, forward on the public platform I shall give my vote to Fish, who has got the courage of his opinions whatever may be said of him, and I know lam not alone in this. Why does not Mr Haynes address the ratepayers in Leith Ward, and Mr Chapman in Bell Ward ? If they do not, and Mr Fish does come out, he will get in by a thumping majority I can assure them.—l am, &c, Ratjspaybb of Leitii Ward. November 1.
