Cjiiustchubch, October 25. A public inquiry into the management of the Institute for Deaf Mutes, Suniner, was opened to-day at Sumuer, before Mr W. H.-Brabant, K.fil of Wanganni, and J. Colborne Veel secretary of the Board of Education. A letter orFd ?• S- Fish', M^-R-to the Minis er ior location was read, reiterating the charces made by Mr Fish in tho House against the management of the institute. A telefram f rom Mr l,sh was read, stating that he had no evidence to give, and would not be present or represented. He suggested that Mr Crofts formerly a teacher in the institute, should be examined, and that the Christchurcn members and Mr Tanner be consulted.
