Passing the stand the first time the order was Paradox, Monte Cano, Musket, St. Katherine, Wvvern Sunbeam, ana Ringipuhi. Going round the turn the field closed up, and St. K*therine went to the front and Jed his field into the straight, when Sunbeam came with a wet "i) and smothering her field won easily by two lengths, the same distance separafciiis,- seaond and third horses, Musket fourth, Monte Carlo fltth, Wyvern and Paradox last. On the fall of the flag King John took up the running followed by Snapeap. Round the bend Jk-Corniiek brought his mount alone ard led into the straight, when Musket challenged him, but Ji'Cormick, handling his mount nicely, landed him a winner by a neck. Time, lmin 22sec. Dividend, L 2 ia s . ■

On tne fall of the flag Aorere rushed to the Iront, but Wyvem soon supplanted him followed by Daisy Clipper and Variety This order was maintained along the back stretch, ana rounding the turn Collelo took charge of the field and led into the straight, but Connop, calling upon his mount, again wrested the lead from Daisy Clipper, and M'Keague sitting down at Variety, a ding-dong race ensued between the Derby candidates, resulting in a, length victory for the son of King Cole.
