Total. 501 311 60 123 102 d The Metropolitan Building and Investment Society of Wellington have declared a dividend at the rate of 7i per cent, per annum. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cablegram from their London ollice, dated 17th August:—" Wheat and Flour: Harvest prospects are promising; market inactive and depressed. New Zealand wheat, long-berried, is worth 32s (id per 4i161b; average is worth 30s (id per 4!llilb ; New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., is worth, c.i.f. to arrive, 30s per 4801b. _^_^____

There were only a lew crossbred ewes offered, and they realised from 15s U to 17s, and one or two potia of prime quality snl.l at a trifle above this.
