At tho board's meeting on Wednesday a number of matters were dealt with, of which Ihe following are the most imp >rtanl, :
The architect reported that the drainage complained of by the Ureen Wand C nmnittee proceeded from the tanks, and recommended their removal and re-erection at the end of the pliiyshcd.—The recommendation was approved of.
Robert liruce, a trainee of the Training College, applied for leave of absence till the end of tho year on account or ill-health.— (.'ranted.
The Iliirhcliff School Committee reeoin mended the erection of the proposed nev
school on the sight of the present building. Agreed to.
The I'apak.-iio .School Committed asked the; board to reconsider their decision of last month relative to the shifting of tho school to a more central situ.—Declined.
Tlie Anderson Hay School Committee's api cation for assistance in electing sheds was dined.
A deputation from the I'iikoivili .School Committee asked that tho wishes of the majority of the committee) respecting the appointment "of a teacher should be given effect to.—The board decided to appoint Mr Kandle head teacher of the school.
Tho Caversham School Committee asked for a female assistant in the place of Mr Don (promoted), but it was decided that no addition could be made to the stall' until the attendance at the school warranted it.
