The Southland Land Board refused a rehearing in the alleged dummyism case of Mr Basstian whose lease was forfeited. The Oama'ru Mail hears that a brother of the late Hon. R. Campbell will shortly take up his residence at Otekaike. It is stated that when funds were needed to carry the Sydenham case to the Appeal Court, the wife of the Rev. Mr Isitt disposed of ; her pianoforte and devoted the proceeds to the i purpose. Simon and J. C. Stephens; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. J. Bruce; journal editors, Miss Oliver and Mr R. N. Vanes; committee—Messrs Rosevear, Evans, Hurlock, Gardiner, Ford, Miss Landells, and Mrs Paton; pianiste, Miss Oliver.
