A WONDERFUL SALE. 84,790 Waterburys in Four Years. Nobody has ever credited the enormous sale of the Waterbury Watch in the colony, and few, if any, could be found to believe that 20,000 Waterburys per annum have been disposed of for over four years without in the least lessening the demand or sullying the reputation of the watch. The following four firms alone testify to the sale of nearly one-half the total disposed of, 11,952. Wellington, 24th October 1891. ' We find that eighty-three gross (11,952) Waterburys have been sent out by our Wellington warehouse. Every satisfaction is expressed that such reliable timekeepers are procurable so cheaply. Kempthorne, Prosser, & Co. (Limited). 9360. Auckland, 25th September 1891. We have sold 65 gross (9360) Waterbury Watches. Customers generally express themselves in terms of unqualified approval. E. Porter & Co. 9000 Dunedin; 10th November 1891. We have sold close on 9000 Waterburys, and the demand still keeps up. We have pleasure in testifying to the excellent character these watches have earned. New Zealand Haedware Company (Limited). 4320 Christchurch, 29th September 1891. Of 360d0z (4320) Waterbury Watches sold by su, the almost unanimous opinion is that for strength and correct timekeeping the Waterbury is unsurpassed ' E. Recce & Sons. THE season for planting spring flowering bulbs having now arrived, I take an early opportunity of reminding my patrons of the fact that early autumn planting is imperative for a brilliant display of these harbingers of spring. Usually planting is delayed until winter, when the soil is cold and wet. thus giving the bulbs little or no chance to make the amount of roots necessary to produce robust flowers. Those who saw my spring bulbs when in bloom last season were amazed at the luxuriant growth and the strength of the flowers, especially growing in such an exposed position as they were, unprotected from the severe south-west gales so prevalent in spring. Success was principally due to early autumn planting and discarding such varieties as were found to produce poor flowers or foliage. My immense collection (the largest in the colony) wero never harvested in better condition, and my customers can rely that none but strong, healthy bulbs will be supplied. — George Matthews, Bulb' Grower, Moray place and Mornington. .KNO's Fruit Salt.—"l travel by rail between twenty and thirty thousand miles each year and in my opinion there is no mode of travelling so debilitating to the human system as that.
