Mr Paton, chairman of the Presbyterian New Hebrides Mission, has forwarded a strongly-worded protest to Sir Samuel Griffith against the resumption of the labour traffic. He pleads that the Queen, the British Government, and all her Majesty's, dominions should do everything possible to suppress for ever the shocking traffic and destruction of human life. THE LAUNCESTON EXHIBITION. Hobart, March 23. (Received March 23, at 12.30 p.m.) The Launceston Exhibition has closed. New Zealand exhibitors obtained 14- special mentions, 22 first prizes, six second prizes, and six highly commendeds.
