THE GLASGOW MARKETS.

Messrs John M'Nairn and Co. report under date February S :— Butter.—Danish butter, slow of sale. The reduction of 10s per cwt in this week's market has demoralised buyers, and with this reduction colonial lias also had to be reduced in price, and at the close the sale is quiet. Scotland is now taking a. large quantity, where it is giving satisfaction. We repeat our former advice to pack in boxes, and have the butter lined with the greaso-proof paper, so as to avoid any chance of it being touched by the wood. New Zealand dairy, 10Ss to 112s ncr cwt; do creamery, 118s to 1225: Cheese.—Canadian and States late-mades sell freely at advancing prices. Summer-made Canadian and States are nearly off the market. Scotch cheese of choice quality are scarce; anything offgrade, however, is quiet of sale. Our first New Zealands arrived last week, and were cleared at once at 57s to 58s ; we hope, however, to make for the Nairnshire's shipment, due in about a fortnight, 60s. This year we see a large outlet for New Zealand cheese, as other makes are going to be scarce, and we should not be surprised to see b2s made for them by the month of April. We are meantime using our influence to try and get direct steamers sent to Liverpool and Glasgow from New Zealand, and trust some good results will follow before long; but we should advise our friends in the colony to use what influence they can in this direction. We are in treaty with the trulf Line Association or Greenock Shipping Company on the matter, and will advise later how we succeed.
