it An adjourned meeting of the' Cavershani d Borough Council was held last evening to consider the selection of tenders for the removal of night- ,_ soil from the borough, for a period of three years ' Present: The Mayor (Mr B. Wilson), and Ore Yates, Boyes, Allen, M'Laren, Rae, Ruston, s M'Gonigal, Baverstock, M'lndoe, and Rutherv ford. '■ t ,£ he tenders were as. follows :—J. M. Kane L 230; F. Bassett, L 206; and J. Ellis, L227-a 5 reduction having been made owing to the Benevo- ', lent Institution being excluded. On the motion of Cr M'Laren, seconded by Cr 11 Boyes, the tender of Mr J. Ellis was accepted An amendment, moved by Cr Yates, and seconded by Cr M^Gonigal, that the lowest tender be * accepted was lost.
