SALE OF SHARES.
Messrs James A. Park and Co. offered for sale by auction, at their rooms yesterd&y, a; JJai-ge number of shares in different mining companies. There was a very good attendance, but the bidding was not very brisk. The following lots were disposed of: —100 vendors' shares in the Island Block Extended Gold Company, Limited (10s paid up, no liability), at 2s per share; 100 contributors' shares in the Roxburgh Amalgamated Mining and Sluicing Company, Limited (9s paid up, Is liability), at 3s lid per share ; and 50 contributors' shares in the United Hercules Hydraulic Sluicing Company, Limited (2s 5d paid up, 7s 7d liability), at 4s 3d per share. Fifteen L 5 debentures of the Island Block Extended Gold Mining Company, bearing interest at the rate of 15 per cent, per annum, were sold at L 2 each.
Mr S. Goldsmith reports having received from Mr J. Burton, secretary to the Ettrick Dredging Company, telegram as follows:—" Ettrick dredge washed up. Gold value L 44 17s 6d. About six days' dredging."
