CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES.
Chrisxchurch, February 16. At the wool sales to-day 3400 bales were off ere !, principally merino clips, onlyq, small proportion crossbred, being from Chatham Islands. Competition was less keen than at earlier sales. Values in sympathy with those ruling in London were easier, especially for merino. Prices ruled as follows:—Merino, 4Jd to 6}d ; crossbred, 5d to Bid; pieces, 3d to 6d; locks, Id to 3Jd ; scoured merino, 9|d to 14d. It is estimated that during the last two months from 700 to 800 stud rams have been drafted to the North Island. The demand will probably be bnsk during the ram fair.
