Business Notices. APPOINTMENT TO HIS EXCELLENCY THE EARL OF ONSLOW. : Andrew Clark, LL.D., F.R.S:, F.R.C.P. Physician in Ordinary to the Queen, 1881). ECTURB ON TEA TO THE STUDENTS OF THE LONDON HOSPITAL. Extract from the Pall Mall Budget. " Tea, to be useful, should be first of all black China Tea. The Indian Tea which is being cultivated has become so powerful in its effects upon the nervous system that a cup of it taken early in the morning, as many people do, so disorders the nervous system, that those who take it actually get into a state of tea intoxication, and it produces a form of nerve disturbance which is most painful to witness." Ithough we are the largest dealers in Indian Ceylon Teas in the colonies, we have always ngly advised the public to drink our Blended sin preference to Indian or Ceylon alone. We ntain they are too sickly for 90 per cent, of the drinking public; and in England, where such c quantities are shipped, over 80 per cent, are 1 for Blending with China Teas, which are oubtedly as pure as Indian and Ceylon, and more refreshing when properly blended. Many cperienced firms push Indian and Ceylon on public because it is beyond them to produce a ilar, true blend, and the profit is larger, for ip common Indians give out a strong, coarse lor, without any quality, and make people for me fancy they are getting a bargain, till they [ out, to their cost, that Sir A. Clark is right, i leading medical men in England are condemnthe use of Indian and Ceylon Tea alone, and above extract from Sir A. Clark's lecture must vince all that a taste for Indians, which has iie acquired by force at first, is a serious and gerous thing. /c are publishing the above extract for the efit of those who have not seen it, and support it we have always maintained. This is against own interests, for the profit on these Teas is al if not more than that on other kinds.
