The South Australian Government are trying to place Treasury bonds at 4^, with five years' currency. General Menabrea, Italian' Ambassador in Paris, has resigned, owing to his son (Count .Menabrea) having taken out letters of naturalisation in order to procure a divorce from his wife. Signor Ressimann, Counsellor to the Embassy, succeeds him.
