Bro. M. Moss, at the request of A.D. Bio. E. J. Bryant, presented P.A. Bro. J, H. Hanson with a beautifully-framed P.A. diploma, ami in doing so referred to the offioient- manner in which Bro. Hanson had fid filled his duties while in tho various offices, and the many valuable services rendered the order in general, to which Bro. Hanson suitably responded. One candidate was initiated, and tho receipts for the evening amounted to L 7 10s.

At tho adjourned summoned meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge M.U.1.0.0.F., held on Tuesday evening in the Stuart street Hall, tho auditors' report and balance sheet for the half year ending 31st December, was presented. The total receipts for this period amounted to Llll6 Is lid, and the expenditure to L 928 5s Bd, thus showing a surplus of LlB7 16s 3d for the sitting. L 246 16s was disbursed in sick pay, and L6O paid for funeral claims. The number of members now on the roll stands at 437, the total Value of the lodge funds being L 16,037 14s sd. After the adoption of the report and balance sheet had been carried, P.P.G.M. Bro. P. Miller, on behalf of the lodge presented the retiring Grand Master, Bro. F. Whinam, with a handsome emblematic certificate, and in doing so referred in complimentary terms to the efficient manner in which Bro. W. Whinam had filled the various offices ho had held in the lodge. N Bro. Whinam briefly returned thanks.
