OHRISTCHUROH CORN EXCHANGE.

■ The following is the Corn Exchange report (per JN. r. Meyers, secretary) for the week ending 22nd January:— '

. 'the harvest is now in full swing, and owing to this broken weather farmers are especially busy. The thrashing machines have scarcely commenced operations in the cereals, but there is plenty of grass seed offering, which, however, is very sparingly taken up. Old wheat is offering plentifully, but buyers are not anxious. No new saTiipies are yet in the market. Oats are dull of siiie owing to the large quanties of new that are on hand. Barley: Malstera are waiting patiently for the new crop, and decline to operate with old samples. The cocksfoot harvest promises to be an exceptionally good yield, and the quality should be first-class, but prices as yet are not determined. Dairy produce is brisk at quotations. The followingare the prices forthe week :— Wheat; Prime milling Tuscan, 4s 3d to 4s 2d; Hunters, 4s lii (chiefly restricted to millers); f owl ,3s fed to 3s 9d. Oats (old): Milling, Is lOd to Is lid; short feed, Is 9d; long and inferior, Is Bd. Barley, beans, and pease: No business doing, iirass seed: Rye—Farmers' linos, 2s" 6d to 3s; cocksfoot, none offering. Dairy produce : Butter prime factory-make, 7d to 8d ; farmers' keg 7d Cheese: ordinary sizes, 3Jd to 4d ; loaf shape, 3d. llie abovo prices are those paid to farmers for delivery f.o.b. Lytteltou; sacks extra.
