Tlie electoral battle for the AVellington seat is still being fought with intense earnestness and vigour on both sides. No stone is being left unturned by the Government and friends, who are daily engaged in active canvass or in organising iorces. The Opposition are equally energetic, and if only this high pressure can be kept up for another month the struggle will be an unprecedentedly severe one. lt is calculated that some 8000 may not improbably be polled, and I know that Jlr Bell's supporters reckon confidently on securing over 4000 of these.
