MINING.
The proprietors of the Croesus mine, Nenthorn, washed np on Monday with a return of 720z, making iv all 1370z of gold for the five weeks' crushing. The battery started again this morning to overtake another washing up for Christmas Eve. A telegram from Mr Nicoll, the manager of the Hercules No. 2 Gold Mining Company, states that he washed up ou the 7th inst. and obtained lOoz 17dwt gold, value L 157 ss.
