Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin subject to any necessary alterations) as under: — For Northern Ports, overland, daily at 10.30 a.m., C.P.O. Late letters, mail van, North train, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 9. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per To Anau, at 1.50 p.m. Late letters, guard's van, Port Chalmers train, at 2.30 p.m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. The direct steamer Arawa will leave Wellington for London, via Rio He Janeiro, on Saturday, 12th.. Mails for the United Kingdom, &c. will close at this office on Wednesday, 9th, at 1.50 p.m. Late letters, guard's van, Port Chalmers train, at 2.30 p.m. Parcels for the United Kingdom, &c. will close at this office on Wednesday, Uth, at 11.50 a.m. This mail will reach London three days earlier than that which goes bjr the s.s. Talune, via Melbourne. Saturday, December 12. FEDERAL SERVICE.
