SOIIOOL COMMIT TEES.
The monthly meeting of the Arthur street School Committee was held last night, and attended by Messrs M'Gregor (chairman), Burt, Crawford, Sligo, and Mason. The head master reported that the average attendance for the week ending December 4 was: Boys, 393; girls, 202;— total, 455. The highest average attendance for any week during the month was: Boys, 297; girls, 213;— total, 510. The number of pupils on the roll was : Boys, 341; girls, 2HO ; total, 601. Mr J. 11. Chapman wrote formally notifying the committee that in consequence of his recommendation for the pos-t of head master he resigned his appointment' as first assistant of the school as from the 3rd January. The resignation was received. The Kensington School Committee held its usual weekly meeting last evening. Present: Messrs Huston (chairman), Foil, Maxwell, Nicholl, I'iuldy, and M'Larcn. The head master reported that the number on the roll was 402; average daily attendance, 331; the highest attendance, 35<\ The smallness of the attendance was due to the prevalence of influenza.
