THE STANDARD BANK SUSPENSION. (Received December H, at 1.3(1 a.m.) At a meeting of shareholders of the Standard Bank the chairman blamed wealthy depositors for the downfall of this institution. Experts have examined the accounts and certify to a surplus of £640,000. CRICKET. Sydney, December 7. (Received December 8, at 1.30 a.m.) In their second innings New South Wales made 172. Moses scored 55. The Englishmen made 155 for the loss of six wickets only, and won the match by four wickets, Lohmann being not out with 34-. There was an immense attendance at the finish of the match, which caused great excitement, as six wickets fell for 95, and it looked almost a certainty for the colonials. But Lohmann and Peel made a splendid stand, and hit off the required runs despite all efforts of the local men. Turner took live wickets for 77.
