(Received June 10, at 12.30 a.m.) The strike of omnibus men threatens to be piolonged, as both masters and mon refuse to make further concessions. Ten thousand men are out, and collections are being made in the streets for their Bupport. (Received June 12, at 7.30 p.m.) The directors of the London General Omnibus Company and Road Car Company refuse to confer with the men out on strike, and threaten, unless tbe offer made a few days ago is accepted, to engage new hands, in which case they will not give employment to any of their old hands, even although they may agree to accept their terms. J June 12, (Eeoeived June 13. at la.m.) The Chairman of the London General I Omnibus Company asserts that it would cost the company £107,000 a year to accede to the men's demands. Tbe concessions which | directors have ofEered to make to the men j are equal to a sum of £90,000 a yeai. Lord j Mayor Savory is mediating in the dispute. ! The strike of compositors in Vienna has j collapsed. (Peb United Pbess Association.) Auckland, June 12. The Trades and Labour Council, in reply to a , letter from the Employers' Association, passed j : the following resolution, which still delays the formation of the proposed board of conciliation :—" That a ballot of the unions proves
unsatisfactory to tho formation of a board of oonoiliation on tho basis proposed in the rules, but that this council is prepared to meet tho Employers' Association with fresh proposals for establishing a board of conciliation, at the same time intimating the desirability of awaiting n, further development of the Labour Bills now before Parliament prior to taking final action."
