OUR VOLUNTEERS.

The Dunedin Engineers paraded at the Garrison Hall on Wednesday evening. There was a good muster, and after inspection of anne, &c, Lieutenant May announced that the officer commanding the district had been pleased to appoint Bugler Olliver to the position of bugler-major for the Dunedin district, and in complimenting Bugler-major Olliver on his promotion, handed him a sword on behalf of the company. The following promotions were also announced;— Corporals Sexby and Roach to be sergeants, Lance-corporals Barton and Russell to be corporals.
