The crews of the coasters which went ashore during the gale were rescued. The schooner Bertha and ketches Jessie Sinclair and Sea Nymph, which are ashore at Trial Bay, are likely to be got off when the weather moderates, but no hopes of floating the Georgina Davis are entertained.

A gale of unprecedented violence swept over the city yesterday, causing considerable damage. The sea swept over the esplanade at Sandgate, and flooded the houses to a depth of a foot. Heavy rain fell over the colony generally. The Glanmire and Great Eastern mines at Gympie are flooded, and 300 men have been rendered idle.
