The customs returns for the .-olony for May chow a total of £115,161—Auckland contributing £23 096, Wellington £24 943, Ohriitctaurch £i 6.357, Dunedin £29,644. The previous month's total was £132,836, and that for May 1890, £127,165. The beer duty for the colony for last month totalled £1034 17s sd, the returnii of the principal cenlres being—Auckland £978.
