UNIVERSITY OF NEW ZEALAND.

A special session of the University Senate waa held in Danodin on the 2nd inst. There were present Sir J. Heotor (chancellor, in the chair), Dr Shand, Key, Dr Salmond, Dr Scott, and Professor J. M. Brown. The Chanceliob stated that the business of the session was, as ordered by the senate at the ate annual session—(l) Consideration of the reports of the examiners in England for the examinations of November 1890; (2) Conferring of degrees, senior scholarships, and honours; (3) Adoption of the annual report of the university to his Excellency the Governor ; (4) Consideration of the report of the examiners on the special medical examination. The Chantollor also stated that he would ask tho senate at this meeting to elect a member of the Boatd of Governors of the Auckland College and Grammar School, a matter which had been overlooked at the time of the annual session. The senate resolved itself into committee tor the consideration of the examiners' reports for November 1890. On resuming, the Chanceliob brought up the following report of the committee Df the whole :— The committee recommend:— 1.
