THE MANIPUR REVOLT.
[88 KLEOTBIO 'IELBGBAPH.—OOPfBIOHT, (Per Pbess Association.) Calcutta, May 15. (Received May 16, at 1.46 a.m.) The Manipuris who were tried for tb murder of Commissioner Quinton, Liei tenants Skene and Simpson, and' M Cossins.were sentenced to be beheaded b the public executioner. May 16. Received May 17, at S p.m.) Despatches received respecting tb Manipur revolt show that Mr Quinto intended arresting the chief Sonaputi ji open durbar, and leave the Regent on tl throne. Many newspapers denonnced tt action as treacherous, and blame Mr Quintc and the Marquis of Lansdowne for it. Tl papers also condemn the inadequate fori sent to Manipur.
