The outter Lizzie wa« towed to sea on Wednesday evening, and sailed for Sreen liland. The s.s. Rotomahana steamed down to Port Chalmers yesterday morning. After completing cargo, embarking patsengen and mails, she left In the afternoon for Melbourne, via the Bluff. The barque Onyx has still a little cargo to put out. She loads here for an intercolonial port. The s.B. Kawatlri steamed down to Fort Chalmers jesterdayjijtenlo'on, and was docked for her perl'XfieTsT'lnveroargill, from Milford Sound, via Coal Island and the Blufl, arrived at Dunedin at 11.40 a.m. yesterday, and landed cargo at the .Eattray street wharf. ' The sobooner Mand Biaham completed her cargo of grain and blooked off her hatohes yesterday afternoon, and will sail with the first fair wind for Tbe"s.B. Napier (which Is intended by Mr K. RamBay to take up the tradealong the eoaßt formerly performed by the illfated Kakanui) arrived off the heads yesterday at 11.40 am., and steamed pasttne Port at 230 p.m. for Dunedin. The Napier is a wooden vessel, built in Auokland; her gross tonnage is 72 and net 43 tons. She is a shapely-looking screw boat, and is fitted with surface-condensing engines ot3o-horse power. Her dimension" are: Length,92(t 2in; breadth of be»m, 16ft Sin; and depth of hold, 6ft 6in. From her appearance she should prove a very suitable boat for the service in which she is to be engaged. The schooner Crest of the Wave, which put in on Saturday from Lyttelton, tailed yesterday forenoon for Inveroirgill. The gallantry and presence of mind displayed by Mr H. A. Hooper, fourth officer of the R.M.S. Tainui, on Monday (B«yB the Post), wbb the means of saving a fellow creature's life. A passenger, named Slatur, bound by the fl.s. Botokino for the aonth, fell off the Tainui, and the affair being observed by Mr Hooper from the foreoastie. that young gentleman took a header with a lifebuoy in: his hand and brought Slatur, who by this time was in extremiß, to land, where he reoeived every attention.
