The annuil swimming tournament at the St. Clair bath took placa on Saturday afternoon and ful entertainment. ■ In tho morning the weather wae dujl and raio Ml oocasioually in an uncomfortable drizzle, but tho committee of management for the tournament wisely determined that the public should noc to be left in doubt owing to the uncertainty of the weather and announced that the competitions would ba held quits irrespective of the state cf the weather. As the day progressed the weather improved, and no rain fell ia the afternoon though the day was somewhat chilly and the sky overcast. There was, however, a very large attendance; all the reserve seats were occupied, and so was the entire space within the baths, and all the places on the hill at the back from which a view of tbe sport 3 conld be obtained. The committee well deserve to be complimented upon their management. The best arrangements were made for spectators within the limitecjjarea of the bath?, the programme was a good cne, and it was well got np, aad was distributed gratuitously—a pieca of liberality not often indulged ia—and the numoroua officials performed tatir respective duties efficiently.
