THE CAMERA OBSCURA.
TO TIH2 EDITOB.
Sin,—As thero will doubtless be fl great many of your readers down afc St. Clair on Saturday at the swimming tournament, I cannot resist the temptation of trcspasbing on your valuable spsce to recommend them (while there) to visit the " camera obscura." The landscape depicted on iho tablo before the wondering eyes of the spectator is simply charming. Here one has a bright and glowing foreground, wifch its living, moving figures in all tho colours of tho kaleidoscope ; and away in tho background beautiful glimpses ol" hill and dale, of land and sea, which finally merge into the azure vault of a summer sky. I have visited cameras of the same kind in other parts ofthe world, and can conscientiously say thafc this one is superior to any I have seen.— I bid, &c, Isle of Man. Dunedln, February 12.
The crops in the Hindon district are looking very well Indeod, considering tho dry weather we have bad and also thai In most oases Ifc Is tho fourth or fifth orop on tbe same lnnd in succession.
