SUICIDES.
DETERMINED SUICIDE AT CAVERSHAM.
A determined case of suicide occurred at Caversham yesterday morning. A mau named Thomas Leonard Chitty, 60 years, of age, left his house about 0 o'clock, and as he did not return his wife became alarmed and asked a neighbour to look if he was in an outhouse, where sho suspected ho had gone. The neighbour on looking in at tho window saw Chitty hanging from the roof. He burst in the ,door and cut down the body, afterwards sending for tho police. Constable Groves arrived about 10 o'clock, snd had the body removed. Dr Teevan was telephoned for, but the man was dead before the doctor arrived; in fact, it is supposed ho was dead when he was cut down. Deceased had often threatened to take his wife's life, but it was uot thought that ho ever had auy intention of takiug his own. An inquest on the body will bo held beforo Mr Coroner Carew this morning at 11 o'clock.
