ST. JOSEPH'S CATHEDRAL.
Tha anniversary of the opening of St. Joseph's Cathedral was celebrated on Wednesday morning with a Pontifical High alajs at 10 o'clock; the Most Rev. Dr Moran acting as celebrant, tho Very Key. FatherMackay (Oamaru) as deacon, tie Bey. Father Hunt(So\ith Dunedinjasenb-der cou, theEov. Father o O'Donnell (Port Chalmers) and O'SnWl as deacon assistants at the throne, and th'j Eov. Father Lynch, adra.,R3 master of ceremonies. The Hlost Jitv. Dr Luck, Bishop of Auckland, occupied a Beat within the sanctuary. Xhp nuuic of tile mass was beautifully sung by the Dominican nuns. In the evening the Most ReV. Bishop Luck, of Auckland, gavo a short discourse on the titular saint of the cathedral, giving a brief outline rf thn many Rood qualities of the saint, and itrongly urging the necessity of following in the ettps of a man noted for his pure and true life.
