THE MASONIC GRAND LODGE MOVEMENT.
(Pcs United Press Association.) ■Wellington, March 18. The Masonic Coiiveution last week resolved that if the Governor wculd accept the Grand Mastership of New Zealand at tiio request of 100 lodges, he should bo elected first Grand Master, but that in tho event of bis Excellency not accepting tbia number of lodges as a sufficient majority, Bro. Henry Thomson, D G.3J. of Uuiteruury; 8.C., should be declared elected as nrs.._ Grand Master, nud arrangements nwdo for the immediate constitution of tho grand lodge ana Bro. Thomson's installation. His Excellency has since replied declining to accept the invitation of less than 120 lodges, or six-sevenths of the total number. Tho Executive Committee, being nimble to guarantee this, met touight, and m terms of the unanimous resolution of the convention, declared Bro. Heury Thomson duly elected us first Grand Master of New ■6'jalaud. Immediate step 3 will be taken for the proclamation of the grand lodge and tho installation of Tiro. Thoijisoii,'. which will take phce next month if possible.
