No reply has yet been received from the Goverume- t in regnrd to the Chinese leper Ah Goon. The friends of tbe patient are inclined to believe that the disease is not leprosy, but lupus, a form of poisoning, as stated by Mr Kitchens, a seller of medicines, who is treating tho case. Dt Bakeweil, who has had some years' experience of leprosy, mftintiins that there is no doubt that the latter in the malady which has attacked Ah Goon. Tho patient came to Auckland direct from China about five years ago
