Mararoa, from Melbourne, via Hobart aud the Bluff, arrived alongside the George street pier at 5 a.m, yesterday, and commenced to discharge her cargo into the railway tmoks. Mr J Ness Keith, her purser, reports leaving Melbourne at 6.30 p.m. on the 12thinat.,Disaed Swan Island at 7.45 p.m. on the 13th, and arrived at Hobart at 5.80 p.m. on the Mill, having experienced heavy westerly gales, with high heid sea and thick weather, from Melbourne. Left Hobart at 11 p.m. on the 14th; had light variable winds with hazy weather across, and breasted Puysegnr Point at 6.F0 p.m. on the 17th, reaching the Bluff at 6 a.m. on the 18th ; left again at 6 p.m. same day; had fine weather along the coast, arriving as above. She was hauled into the graving dock in the afternoon for cleaning and repainting. The s.s. Elderslie was expected to complete her loading last night, and sails to-day for London. The U.S.B. Company's steamer Kingarooma, Captain J. Stott, from Sydney, via the East Coait ports, arrived at the tongue wharf at 3.10 p.m. yesterday. She left the company's wharf at Sydney at 5 p.m. of the 6th inst.; had a five weather passage across, and reached Auckland on the 12th inst.; left for the South next day, calling at Giaborne, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton ; left the latter port at 6.45 p.m. of the 18th Inst., had strong eoutheiiy winds down the coast, and reached headquarters as above. We thank Mr Massey, the purser, foi report and flies. A large barque, with painted ports, waß reported six miles south of Cape Sauaders at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. The ferry steamer Oaprey took the teioherj and children attending the KnoxOhurch Sabbath School down to the Quarantine Island yesterday. The s.s. Jubilee discharged cargo at tha Jetty street wharf yesterday. She leaves Dunedin about Friday on her return trip to Sydnsy, via the East Coast. Thf yacht Pastime left Dunedin at 4 a.m. yesterday for Lyttelton. The German barquo Conoordia, which left Dunedin on Monday, 10th inst., had light winds, calms, and thick fogs all down the coast. She arrived at the Bluff on the morning of the 16th inst., and commenced loadiug lor London on the following day. As her cargo is waiting her she will meet with quick despatch, and Captain Olausen (who came up to Dunedin yesterday) informs us that he expects to be loaded and ready for sea by the Ist March. The s.s. Jncercargill loft the Hattray street wharf at 11 a.m. yesterday, with cargo for Invercargill. The barque Levuka completed loaning at the Rattray street wharf yesterday. She sails for Auckland to-day. THE MHEOPE. The barque Merope, from Glasgow, reached the heads shortly after 6 p.m. .yesterday aud signalled " All well." The tug Plucky at once proceeded down to tender her, bringing her across the bar at 7.30 p.m. and towing her up as far as the Quarantine ground, where she anchored; but owing to the health and customs officials not going off to clear tha vessel in we are unable to publish a report of her passage.
