A well-known local horse purchased by Farrell and Co. previous to the races, with all engagements, is to be taken to Australia with Pretender.

Green Isle is doing splendidly at Fleinington. Sinecure had a strong gallop at the latter place yesterday, but did not please the touts. Scottish Chief has been scratched for all engagements at the V.A.T.C. meeting. Moorbank has advanced to 100 to 12 for the Caulfield Cup. At Tattersall's this evening there was a good deal of betting over the Melbourne vGup—sooo to 750 was taken about Singapore; 2000 to 200 about Carbine, and 400J to 400 about Antaeus. A Wellington telegram states that the Wellington Racing Club have received 10 tenders for the erection of the new stand. The matter has been left with the architect to settle.
