Wellington, September- I.—Sailed: Takapuna, for the South. Passengers Miss Hay, Mesdames Thornton and Elliott. Messrs Seville, Elliott, Smith, Shannon, Thornton, Patteno.l, and Gray. Lyttbltcht, September 11.—Sailed: Mahinapua, for Dw.ndln, via limaru. Sydney, September 11.—Arrived : H.M.S. Calliope, from the Hew Hebrides. 1 ~ The schooner Lizzie Ellen, from Fortrose, arrived early yesterday morning, and beat up above the islands, where she anchored. The s.B. Tekapo, Captain I. Anderson, from Newcastle direct, arrived at Fort Chalmers at 8 a.m. yesterday, and commenced to discharge portion of her cargo of coal 3 into the hulks at tho ttowen pier. Mr Petherbridge (her purser) reports leaving Newcastle at 1.30 p.m. on the sth inst. From Newcastle until making the New Zealand coast she had westerly ■-*inds with fine weather, followed by S.W. winds •,nd thick weather through Foveaux Straits, and thence fine weather to arrival. The b.b. Brunner, Captain Ewan, coal laden from Westport, arrived early yesterday morning, BOd after discharging some 200 tons into the hulks at the George street pier, Bhe steamed up to Dunedin. She left Westport. at 8 a m. on the Bth inst. The s.s. Manapouri, Captain T. Logan, from Sydney, via Auckland and Kast Coast ports, arrived alongside the Bowen pier at 9 a.m. yesterday. Mr Fenwick (her purser) reports leaving Sydney at S p.m. on the 29th ult:, rounded the North Cape at 0.30 a.m. on the 3rd inst., and arrived at Aucklandat 4 p.m. same day; remained there until noon on the sth, when she pushed on for the South; called at Gisborne and Napier, and arrived at Wellington at 10 a.m. on the Bth; sailed again at 5.40 p.m. on the 9th; arrived at Lyttelton on the morning of the 10th, leaving again lame afternoon-arriving as above. From Sydney she had strong N.B. winds •with head sea until nearing the New Zealand coast, and thence to arrival moderate variable winds and line weather. The s.s. Tarawera, Captain Sinclair, left the George street pier yesterday afternoon for Sydney, via Auckland and Bast Coast ports. The tug Koputai having been cleaned and repainted was hauled out of the graving dook yesterday afternoon. The ship Waitangi was towed up to Sunedin yesterday afternoon by the tugs Koputai and Plucky. The ship Nelson will be ready to take in ballast on Friday. The barque Nanny resumed work yesterday afternoon. Her cargo is being landed in excellent condition.
