At a meeting held at Tuturau to consider the small bird question a Bpeaker said that a practical man from Canterbury had told him that he had never known a case of a dog being lost through eating poisoned animals. Another man, however, had told him that he watched a hawk sit down to eat a poisoned rabbit a few days ago, and in less than half an hour the hawk was dead.
