HANLON, Esq., Eldon Chambers, Frinceß street, Dunedin. BRbfcßß: ROBERT STRONG, Esq., Leveu street, Naseby. Secretary: 3AMUBL J. EVANS, Heq., Naseby and Nenthorne. It ia proposed to erect at Nenthorne an efficient ilant for the reduction of quartz for the Public, luoh ilant in the meantime to consist of a Huntington dill, with all the moat approved gold-saving ippliances, and to be worked br (.team power. The tf ill to have a guaranteed reducing capacity of not ess than 210 tons per week. The estimated cost of uch plant is £1500. It has been proved conclusively by recent trials at Junedin and elsewhere, that such a plant aB that ntended to be securcd_ saveß at least 10 per cent, nore gold than the ordinary stamper head battery, .'he Huntington Mill also possesses the advantages if being compact, portable, aud involving no delay n erection. At present the reefs bo far discovered at Nenthorne ,re numerous, of a good body, and carry payable ;old, not one trial crushing made yet of one ton and inwards having produced less than loz 13dytt >ER TOK. The following is a list of Claims which have had Mai Crushings, with results-viz., Victoria, 2oz 9dwt; Nenthorne Consolidated, loz 13dwt; Blue Slate, 2oz2dwt; Golden Crystal, 3oz; Daddy, 2oz dwt; Kureka, lOoz; Gladstone, 3oz ldwt; Zeaandia, 3oz; Justice, 3oz 3dwt. Claimholders, beyond provirjg the extent and •iehneis of their reef>, have not yet set to work to ;ake out stone in quantity, simply because they canlofc get it cru>hed, there being no available plant on ;he field. Besides the claims named, no lees than 22 other holdings contain strong, well-defined reefs jarrying Rich Gold, which are now surveyed and rents paid thereon. The owners of these claims are Dnly awaiting the erection of a public battery to " It is almost superfluous to say that a Public Battery on the field would be hailed with the utmost satisfaction, and while benefiting claimholders and giving an immediate impetUß to the development of the field, would undoubtedly afford Et most remunerative investment for the employment of capital. The quantity of Btoue known to exist is Buch that there need be no fear that the Mill will not bo kept Fully employed. It is not expected that more than 5s per share will be called up for the purchase and erecting of the neceseary plant, but as the field is eminently a progressive aud extensive one. the capital has been m ide sufficiently large to admit of such additions to the machinery as the reefs may require. The question of receipts and expenditure has been carefully gone into, and the following estimate may be regarded as perfectly reliable and as not tod sanguine :— Expenditure. Wages ... ... ... £20 per week Coal ... ... ... £25 „ Contingencies ... ... ilO ~ £55 per week. Bhvbnue. 240 tons at 10s ... ... ... £120 Deducting, however, say 90 tons (a very liberal allowance). 150 tons at 10s ... £75 Net profit per week, £20, or £1040 per annum. Equivalent to over 40 per cent, per annum on the imount proposed to be called up-viz., £2500. In the foregoing calculation tho cOBt of coal is based upon the assumption that it will have to be brought some distance to the battery site, but as extensive deposits of suitable fuel are now being prospected in proximity to the field, there is every probability of this Item being considerably reduced. Early application for shares is necessary, as the sapital is limited and numerous promises of liberal Bupport have been made by persons interested in the Geld, and it is intended, If possible, to erect the machinery so as to enable advantage to be taken of The Share Lißt will close not later than the 28th [nst., and applications wil be treated by priority. 10s IN BANKRUPTCY.
