POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Malls close at the Chief Poßt Office, Dunedin (subject, to any necessary alterations), as under: — Lccal mails between Dunedin and Oainaru, also those for the Naoeby liae. will close at 7.15 a.m., and will be forwarded by the 7.45 a.m. train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, overland, ■dally, at 10.30 a.m., at C.P.O. Late letters, guard's van, North express train, at 11 a.m. The Post Office, Bunodin North, will be cleared at 10 a.m.

Tsis Day (Saturday), Atoust 31, Tor Auckland direct, per Herald, at 2.20 p.m. late letters, Chief Post Office, at 2.30 p.m.

Book packets and newspapers at 9.30 a.m. on Friday, 6th. Late letters, tearing an additional single rate of postage (6d) as a late fee, can be posted in the mail van attached ,to the North train, leaving Dunedin Railway otation at, 11 a.m. on Friday, the 6th.
