Interim: Ssobetaby : ANDREW HAMILTON, Exchange Court. SOIIOITOKS :•• MACGHEGOE and NORTH, Dunedin and Port Chalmers. This Company is formed for the purpose of acquiring and working the claim on the Shotover river called the ;Golden Bar, whioh is situated about four miles below the now famous claim of Mr Sew. Hoy at the Big Beach, and is about one mile and a-quarter in length, running from the Lower Shotever bridge"' down to the mouth of the river, where it j»ins the Kawarau. This claim is most conveniently situated, being close to the main road, so that coal and all-materials can be placed on the ground &t a reasonable cost. ■ - It is proposed to work the claim by a bucket dredge, similar to that at present working on the Big Beach, with such improvements as experiencemay suggest. The cost of the dredge, fully equipped, is estimated at about £2250, and gold should be obtained as soon as the dredge is at work. As s.oon as two-thirds of the shares ace subscribed, a contract will be entered into for a dredge, which would then be placed upon the river without delay. Nothing need be said of the immensely rich gold deposits of the well-known Shotover river, more especially about this locality. The river runs moßtly through deep, rooky gorges, and for miles is totally unfit for dredging, but the claim now under offer is quite free from gorge. It has also a false or sandy bottom, from which the gold on be readily scraped up by a buoket dredge. At the lowest calculation the proposed dredge should lift 60 tons per hour. It will therefore be easily understood that the returns from such an amount of gold bearing stuff must be large. Prospecting has been carried on above by the Big Beach Company, and below at the junction of the Kawarau with highly satisfactory results. All expenses for floating and registering the Company to be paid by the Company. Applications for shares will now be reoelveffby the Company's Broker, ar.d the Share List will close as soon as the requisite number of shares shall have been applied for. As nearly 1000 shares have been taken up, early application is necessary to secure the balance of the 3000 shares now offered to the public. 25jy Public Notices. TyrOTIOE TO THE PUBLIC.
