THE SAN FRANCISCO MARKETS. The National Mortgage Company have received the following advice from their Ban Francisco agents :—The large stocks of I raits carried over from the 18-8 packing ; the extreme high price of augar which ba3 prevailed for a long time, and will undoubtedly hold during the remainder of the packing s-ason; the apathy of our large buyers in the Eastern States to contract for future delivery, have had a tendency greatly to lessen the pack this seaton. We are positive that not over 50 per cent, of the fruit pack in 1888 has been packed this season thus far. This will, of course, later on tend to exceedingly low stocks, and an active demand and higher prices. Apricots to-day are exceedingly firm at Idol 60c to Idol 600. The peach crop does not promise well as to quantity. This remark regarding peaches will also apply to the large peach sections in the Eastern States. Salmon remains about in the same position. The catch, however, on the Columbia river is the smallest of any year since the business assumed such large proportions. The packing on the Sacramento river has ceased, and the product has been disposed of at very fair prices. It is yet too early to give any definite information as regards the packing In Alaska. During the past two weeks, however, a much better feeling has prevailed, and the large holders have been able to realise in the Eastern States and England at remunerative prices. We quote the market for future delivery as follows : Alaska, Idol 30c to Idol 32}0 ; Columbia river, Idol 67}e to Idol 70c; Sacramento river, Idol 45c to Idol 50o: outside fall fish, Idol 25c to Idol 35c, as to quality.
