FIRE INSURANCE. TO THE EDITOR.
Sin,—lf I get my house insured for its full value, is the insurance company liable to that amount or only to three-fourths ? Should the latter be the case, I am afraid that a great many others, besides myself, are not aware that they have to take one-fourth of the risk, notwithstanding that they are paying the premium on the full value. [We have ascertained that tbe usual course is for the insurance company to procure an estimate for the rebuilding of premises destroyed by fire. If this can be done for a less sum thaa the amount of the insurance, the holder of the policy is given the option of accepting the amount of the estimate o* of having his premises rebuilt.—Ed. O. D.
