ROSLYN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ORDINARY MEETING.
An ordinary meeting of the above council, held last night, was attended by the mayor (Mr A. 0, Begg), Cra Duuoan, Wilkinson, Fraser, Mollison, Sim, Farley, Higgins, Ferry, Stewart, and Dalziel.
The Finance Committee's repsrt, which waß adopted, recommended inter alia that accounts mounting to £113 lGs 2d be passed for payment. The committee also reported that the bank overdraft amounted to £4.31.
The Works Committee recommended that the request of the 27 memorialists from Kirkland Hill to have part of Main street metalled be complied with ; that tenders be called for the supply of 125 yards of road metal for Kirklaud Hill, Hart street, and other places ; that the tender of Messrs Kirk and Company for replimking and addition's to the bridge over the Kaikorai stream Jor £20 10s be accepted; and that the tender of Mr E. M'Bwen for a 12 months' supply of Oalder's screenings at 7s per cubic jard be accepted. Hie committee had instructed the inspector to tar and sand the footpath on City road between Tay and Forth streets, and to enlarge the opening of a culvert at the footof Littlebourne road if necessary.— The report was adopted. A circular from the Oamaru Borough Council with reference to the consolidation of municipal loans was received.
Cr Farley moved—"That the matter of tarring the High street footpath be referred to the Works Committee."
The motion was seconded by Cr Mollison, and carried.
