Sir,—Yeur reporter has fallen into an error in describing the meeting in the Town Hall, Roslyn, as "ainee'.mg conveyer! by tho mayor of the borough in the interests of prohibition."
From tbe advertisement, which I enclose, you will «cc tbat this meeting wis called by me, ns mayor, iii response to » ratepayer's requisition " to hear the views of the gentL-inen nominated as candidates for tbe Licencing Committee." If any one h desirous of su.tinfr the requisition, which is signed by 20 ratepayers, he cau do so by applying at n.y c.flice.
I can only Recount for the publican's party holding v. i-e.parat^ meeting1 on the supposition that they havu ns great a dread of irc.u discussion as tho average German communist is said to havo of .soim Hiid water.—l am &c ,
