REAPER AND BINDER TRIAL.

Inveucargill, February 15,
The reaper and binder contest arranged for by the Southland A. and P. Society took place to-day with the following results .—Massey, VI points; Rcrnsby, GO; Howard, 02; Deering 50; M'Cormiek, 59; Wood, 5'J; Buckeye, p6; Heid and Gray, 54; Johnston, 52 ;—Jlaximum points, 75. The crop was an indifferent one of oats, and it was admitted that the Wood, Buckeye, and Johnston machines knd bad plots. The paddock was a!oO tco small; end it was impossible to give equal lots or t'ae usual areas to eaah machine cutting less than two acres. OwiDg to tho uuequal lots no time test was introduced, neither was tho draught tried.
