As the money had not been paid this was quite unnecessary. A Christchurch telegram states that the racehorses Lochiel, Russley, and Rose Argent were shipped for Melbourne by the Waihora.

An Auckland telegram Btates that the Auckland Racing Club have decided to raise the added money in the Easter Handicap to 200jovs, iv the Autumn Handicap to 150sovs, aud tho Ellerslie Handicap (for two-year-olds) to lOOsovs.

The bowling match between teams from Balclutha aud , Kaitaugata took place on the Clutha green on Saturday. Three rinks a side were played, and after tho close of the play, which lasted two hours and a-quarter, victory rested with the Kaitaugata players by four points.
