A BRAZILIAN IRONCLAD. The Brazilian ironclad Almirante flaroso, commanded by the Chief of Division, Custodio Jobo de Mello, left Rio de Janeiro laßt month on a two years' cruisejround the world. The route proposed to be taken was via the Straits of Magellan to Australia, possibly calling at New Zealand, aud on up to Japan. She would then coast along to India, and through the Canal and Mediterranean, and 90 bick to Brazil. One of the second lieutenants on board Is the Kmperor's grandson — viz , Don Augusto Leopold, son of the Princess l.eopoldine, who married Prince Auguatus of Saxe-Coburg. A feature of interest about the Almirante Barroao i 3 that it was constructed entirely of Brazilian materials. She is a composite ship of 1930 tons displacement, and carries eight sin muzzle-loading guns. The Indicated horse power is set down at 1200 horse, and gives, it i 3 said, a speed of 12 knots.
