It is also thought likely that the question of supremacy of Foreign Powers in these seas will be discussed. THE DIIOUGHT IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, January 22. (Received January 22, at 12.50 p.m.) Although light rains have fallen in different parts of the colony, the heat is still very great all over, and the crops are suffering severely. THE NEW SOUTH WALES GENERAL ELECTION. The election campaign is now in full swing, and creating considerable excitement. Both Freetraders and Protectionists are straining every nerve to secure a majority. The latest elections are jfixed for February 10.
